How to read the numbers

Each number adds the stats of the opposing players listed at that position in a game, then averages those game totals over the games with a player there (GP). Two point guards in one game count as one game. All adds every opposing player. Rank 1 allows the most, and equal values share a rank. The league average weights every team's games the same way. Regular season only: no play-in, playoffs or Cup final.

Positions come from our roster data, with estimates where an exact position is unavailable. Last season's opponents who are not on a roster this season have no position, so they count under All only.

The last five starters in a team's dropdown come from ESPN box scores. A starter's position is ESPN's depth chart for that day; where the chart does not settle it, his roster position or the box score's position is named beside him. These are results already played, not a projection or a player's chance of clearing a line.
