What the figures measure
Allowed per game means the opposing group's total divided by measured team games, not by skater appearances. Forwards include centers and wings. Defencemen are kept separate. Power-play points count goals and assists on the power play, not team power-play goals.
These are the same NHL game-log team tables used by the Lab's player research cards. Current-season samples include a game only when every recorded skater in that group has the stat. A missing value is not a zero. Game counts can differ by stat. Only regular-season games with both clubs recorded enter the tables.
The comparison uses this season once the card's current-season comparison is ready; before that it uses the previous regular season. League average is the mean of eligible clubs' per-game rates. Rank 1 means fewest allowed, with shared ranks for ties. Small samples describe what happened, not a player's chance of clearing a line.
