Why are there no player props for this college football game?

Quick answer

On the slate we counted, the games with nothing had one thing in common: an FCS opponent. On the Friday evening before the 26 September slate, 12 of the 65 college games in our odds feed had no player prop at any book we track, and every one of them was an FBS team hosting an FCS team. Another 20 games had anytime touchdown props and nothing else. Only 33 of the 65 had a yardage prop at all. Big matchups had plenty: Oregon at USC had 66 props from 10 books.

You open your app on a college Saturday, find the game you care about, and there is nothing to bet on the players. It is not your app. On the slate we counted, nearly one game in five had no player props anywhere we track, and half had no yardage props at all.

Here is the whole Saturday, game by game.

The count: 65 games, 33 with a yardage prop

The college games of Saturday 26 September 2026, as listed in our odds feed, read on the Friday evening before.

Games
On the slate 65
With any player prop 53
With anytime touchdown props only 20
With a yardage prop (passing, rushing, receiving or receptions) 33
With no player prop at all 12

The 12 with nothing

Every one of them was an FBS team at home to an FCS team:

Bucknell at Pittsburgh Lindenwood at Eastern Michigan
Central Arkansas at Florida State Mercyhurst at Western Kentucky
Gardner-Webb at Marshall North Carolina Central at East Carolina
Houston Christian at North Texas Robert Morris at Buffalo
Incarnate Word at Texas State Stonehill at Ohio
LIU at Florida International William & Mary at Duke

Florida State and Duke are on that list. What the 12 had in common was the opponent: every one was an FCS team. We did not check whether every FBS against FCS game that day was empty.

The 20 with touchdowns only

The next tier had anytime touchdown props and nothing else. The eight thinnest games on the board were all in it:

Game Props Books
UMass at Sacramento State 11 4
James Madison at Old Dominion 19 3
South Florida at Bowling Green 20 3
Ball State at Kent State 20 5
Middle Tennessee at Jacksonville State 20 3
UNLV at Akron 21 4
Kennesaw State at Arkansas State 21 3
Florida Atlantic at UL Monroe 21 3

We do not know why a book posts touchdown props on a game and skips its yardage, and we are not going to guess. The pattern is what the board showed.

At the other end

The big matchups got the full menu: passing, rushing, receiving, receptions, passing touchdowns and anytime touchdowns.

Game Props Books
Oregon at USC 66 10
Illinois at Ohio State 58 8
Kansas State at Cincinnati 56 7
Colorado at Baylor 54 8
Minnesota at Washington 54 7

The median game with props had 42 of them from 7 books.

Which books had props on the most games

Of the 53 games with any props:

Book Games with props
DraftKings 53 (anytime touchdowns only)
Bovada 51
BetOnline 50
bet365 (Ontario prices) 41
FanDuel 33
Hard Rock Bet 32
theScore Bet 25
Fliff 24
BetMGM 11
Courtside 11
BetRivers 4

If your only app is FanDuel, you had player props on 33 of the 65 games. If it is BetMGM, 11. And on this slate DraftKings’ college props in our feed were anytime touchdowns only, on every game. Which of these books paid the most, market by market, is in which sportsbook has the best college football prop odds.

What to do about it

  1. Check a second and third book before you decide a game has no props. Coverage differed by more than four to one between the books above.
  2. Expect less on games against FCS opponents. All 12 empty games on this slate had one. That is the pattern in the empty games, not a rule about every such game, and it is one slate, not a season.
  3. Look again on Saturday morning if a game you want is thin. College props can keep arriving on game day, and this count is from the night before.

The Lab board lists every college game that has props, with each book’s price side by side, so you can see in one screen which games have a menu and which books are carrying it.

What we counted

The college games of 26 September 2026 as listed by our odds feed, which is where the 65 comes from, against our board as published on Friday 25 September, prices pulled at about 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Eastern, bet365 through the day. A game “has a prop” if any book we track priced any player market on it. A prop is one player in one market, counted once however many books priced it. Books and games we do not track are not in this count.

No sportsbook was contacted. Numbers come from our own board for the 26 September 2026 college slate.
