Which NBA player prop tools show props, hit rates and matchups without paying?

Quick answer

On October 23, 2026, a 12-game NBA slate, we opened ten prop tools logged out from Ontario. Five showed an NBA prop board: BettingPros was the broadest, 1,406 props in 11 markets with free game logs, a matchup tab with defense vs position and a multi-book odds page; ScoresAndOdds showed last-8-game hit rates and best prices; PropsMadness opened 3 players in one free preview game; RotoWire and Covers showed prices without hit rates. PropFinder, Props.Cash and Unabated showed nothing without an account. We build one as well, the Lab, which is free: that morning it carried 1,325 NBA props in 11 markets across 18 books, with hit rates, game logs and an NBA defense vs position table. What the paid tiers kept back was mostly the pick and the projection.

Every prop tool says it covers the NBA. On Friday, October 23, 2026, after our 10:00 AM ET line pull, we opened ten of them in one browser, logged out, from Ontario, between 11:34 and 11:50 ET. We did not sign up, sign in or pay anywhere. The slate was 12 games, and every tool that showed a board showed the same 12. This page records what rendered, not what the pricing pages promise, and it does not rank anyone’s accuracy.

Every row as read on October 23, 2026, between 11:34 and 11:50 ET, logged out from Ontario. Our own row was counted from the live board at 11:46 ET. Counts are each site’s own: BettingPros’s total is the sum of its game filter, ours counts board rows with the over and under in one row.

The broadest free board: BettingPros

BettingPros loads logged out once you scroll (the board loads lazily, so a cold visit can look empty). Its game filter listed all 12 games with 1,406 props, 104 to 137 per game, mean 117.2, across 11 markets: Points, Rebounds, Assists, 3Pts Made, Steals, Blocks, First Basket, Pts + Ast, Pts + Reb, Reb + Ast and Pts + Ast + Reb.

On a prop page the game log tab and the matchup tab were free, and the matchup tab carried a defense vs position box. A separate odds page per player showed about 20 books side by side. What was paid: the pick and the projection on each prop, and the advanced filters (home, away, favourite, underdog, streaks, projections). The star rating on every card read 0 of 5 logged out.

Prices that day: Plus $29.99 a month, or $119.99 a year; Elite $49.99 a month, or $199.99 a year; a 3-day trial on the yearly plans; and a $0 free tier.

Hit rates by player: ScoresAndOdds

ScoresAndOdds showed 196 player rows on its default Points list, 10 markets in its menu, and the best over and under price on each row with an odds compare link. Its player pages carried, free, a prop history by game against the consensus line and the share of the last 8 games over the line. The projection column was paid on every row.

One caution from the audit: the one player page we opened, Luka Doncic’s, still showed last season’s props rather than that night’s game. Price that day: $49.99 a month, or $149.99 per 6 months, with a 3-day trial at $9.99; no annual plan was shown.

The deepest free look, for three players: PropsMadness

PropsMadness listed all 12 games with lines and prices, then marked one game as a free preview, Rockets at Spurs, and opened three players in it: Kevin Durant, Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson. For those three, everything was free: a hit-rate chart, a game-by-game table against the closing line, shooting zones against the opponent’s defence and a shot type breakdown, across 22 NBA markets including first-quarter and first-half points. Clicking any other player opened a paywall. Price that day: $25 a month, or $250 a year.

Prices without the research: RotoWire and Covers

RotoWire’s NBA props page loaded 4 market tables, Points, Rebounds, Assists and Threes, with 21 players each, and each player’s line and price at 9 books side by side. It lists 12 markets in its tabs. There were no hit rates or game logs on the page. Its pricing page was a countdown sale whose layout did not make clear which figure was monthly and which annual, so we do not restate it here.

Covers showed 28 projected props across the 12 games, in 4 markets, each with a projection, an EV figure, a star rating and the best price with its book. From Ontario the books shown included BET99, Betano and bet365. No hit rates or game logs.

Three bets free: Outlier

Outlier offers a free NBA feed on its home page. On October 23 its popular list showed 3 NBA bets, LaMelo Ball, Tyler Herro and Josh Giddey, and blurred the rest. Opening one showed a lot: hit rates over the last 5, 10 and 20 games, a 10-game chart, a shot chart against the opponent and a by-position table of what the opponent allowed, at one book’s price. Its Insights list did not load in 18 seconds. Its paid plans that day: Premium $19.99 a month, Premium+ $29.99, Pro + React Live $79.99, with annual plans shown as $16.67, $25.00 and $30.00 a month billed upfront, and a 7-day free trial.

Nothing without an account: PropFinder, Props.Cash and Unabated

PropFinder’s NBA address sent a logged-out visitor to a sign-in page; its pricing names a free plan with access to one game per league and limited props, which needs an account, and paid plans of $14.99 a month or $149.99 a year. Props.Cash’s NBA page led to a sign-in page too; $19.99 a month, $199.99 a year, or an NBA Pass at $99.99 a year. Unabated asks for an account even for its free NBA odds; Props+ was $99 a month, or $83 a month billed annually.

These are login walls, not paywalls. We did not sign up, so we cannot say what any of their free accounts show.

StatMuse is not a prop tool, but it answers a game-log question for free, such as a player’s last 10 games, with no lines or prices attached.

Our own entry

We build one of the eleven. At 11:46 ET that morning the Lab’s NBA board carried 12 games and 1,325 props, 91 to 132 per game, mean 110.4, in 11 markets (Points, Rebounds, Assists, Threes, PRA, Pts+Reb, Pts+Ast, Reb+Ast, Blocks, Steals and First Basket), priced across 18 books, with prices pulled at 10:00 AM ET. Counting every alternate line as well, it held 6,045 NBA lines.

Each prop on the board shows its line, the best price across the books and hit rates over the last 5, 10 and 20 games, last season and this season. Each player has a page with every book’s price on every line and a game log against the line; Jayson Tatum’s showed 9 markets for that night’s New York at Boston game. The NBA defense vs position table showed 2025-26 by default that morning, with 2026-27 one click away until every team has ten games. Whether that table’s numbers mean much for a prop is its own question, answered in does defense vs position matter for NBA props. The Lab is free.

BettingPros showed more props than we did that morning, 1,406 to our 1,325, and PropsMadness and RotoWire listed more markets. That is the honest count.

What paying buys

Across the tools that showed a board, the split was the same as in our earlier tests: the evidence was mostly free and the conclusion was paid. Lines, prices across books, hit rates and game logs were free at one tool or another. The pick, the projection and, at PropsMadness, every player outside its preview game sat behind the paywall. If you want to buy a decision, the paid tiers sell that, and the full price list is in the best paid player prop tools. If you would rather read the evidence yourself, you do not need to pay for it.

The catch with a list like this

Free tiers move, and a prop count is a fact about one slate. This page carries its audit date and time for that reason: every count above is from October 23, 2026, between 11:34 and 11:50 ET, logged out from Ontario, and every price was read off the vendor’s own page that morning in US dollars.

No affiliate links, no referral codes, and no vendor was contacted. We build one of the tools on the list.

Quick answers

What is the best free NBA prop tool?

For breadth logged out, BettingPros: 1,406 NBA props across 11 markets on October 23, 2026, with game logs, a matchup tab and a multi-book odds page free. ScoresAndOdds adds last-8-game hit rates on its player pages. We build one as well, the Lab: 1,325 NBA props in 11 markets that morning, each with hit rates, game logs and the best price across 18 books.

Which NBA prop tools show defense vs position for free?

Logged out on October 23, 2026, BettingPros showed a defense vs position box on each prop's matchup tab, PropsMadness showed shooting zones against the opponent for its 3 open players, Outlier showed a by-position table on each of its 3 free bets, and our Lab has an NBA defense vs position table. RotoWire's menu links a separate NBA defense vs position page we did not open.

Which NBA prop tools need an account?

PropFinder and Props.Cash sent a logged-out visitor to a sign-in page, and Unabated asks for an account even for its free odds. That is a login wall, not a paywall: we did not sign up, so we cannot say what their free accounts show.

How much do the paid NBA prop tools cost?

Read from each vendor's own page on October 23, 2026, in US dollars: PropFinder $14.99 a month or $149.99 a year; Props.Cash $19.99 a month, $199.99 a year or an NBA Pass at $99.99 a year; Outlier Premium $19.99 a month; PropsMadness $25 a month or $250 a year; BettingPros Plus $29.99 a month or $119.99 a year; ScoresAndOdds $49.99 a month; Unabated Props+ $99 a month. Prices change; check the vendor's page.

Why count props per game?

Because a slate's size is not a tool's. On a 12-game night BettingPros showed 104 to 137 props per game (mean 117.2) and our board 91 to 132 (mean 110.4). On a three-game night every count would be a quarter of that, and it would say nothing about the tool.

Want tonight's board?

The Lab has the full slate: every line with L5, L10, L20 and season hit rates, game logs, matchup context and the best price at your books. A short daily card of picks is posted before the games and graded in public afterwards, win or lose. The Lab is free, and it stays free.
