What can I use instead of Outlier that costs nothing, and what do I give up?

Quick answer

On October 23, 2026, Outlier's plans were $19.99, $29.99 and $79.99 a month, with a 7-day free trial, and a logged-out visitor got a free feed of 3 popular NBA bets with full research on each. The same morning, logged out, BettingPros showed 1,406 NBA props in 11 markets with free game logs, a matchup tab and a multi-book odds page; PropsMadness opened 3 players in one free preview game; ScoresAndOdds showed last-8-game hit rates; PropFinder showed a sign-in page. We build one as well, the Lab, which is free: 4,695 props across 5 leagues and 20 books that morning, with hit rates, game logs and every book's price on a player page. What Outlier's paid tiers advertise beyond that is mostly +EV flags, odds movement and alerts.

Outlier is a real product and it is not cheap: on October 23, 2026, its plans ran from $19.99 to $79.99 a month. People who search for a free alternative have usually decided they want what it does and are deciding whether to pay. So we opened Outlier and the free prop tools the same morning, in one browser, logged out, from Ontario, between 11:34 and 11:50 ET, after our 10:00 AM ET line pull. We did not sign up, sign in or pay anywhere, and we contacted no vendor. This page records what rendered, not what anyone’s marketing promised, and it ranks no tool’s accuracy.

What Outlier shows before you pay

Outlier’s home page offers a free feed of NBA and NFL bets, with a set number of insights and popular bets per sportsbook. Its own NBA landing page says the feed “is not a complete NBA odds board,” and that matched what we saw.

At 11:44 ET the free NBA popular list showed 3 bets: LaMelo Ball points over 19.5, Tyler Herro assists over 5.5 and Josh Giddey assists over 9.5, each with a hit rate and one book’s price. The rest of the list repeated under a blur with an offer to start a free trial. Of the league tabs, NFL and NBA were open and MLB, college football, soccer, WNBA, NHL and college basketball carried padlocks. In the free app’s menu, Games, Props, EV+, Boosts, Arbitrage and Middle Bets carried padlocks too. The free Insights list did not load in 18 seconds; we record that as not loaded, not as empty.

Opening one of the three bets showed a lot. For LaMelo Ball’s points it gave hit rates over the last 5, 10 and 20 games, head to head and two seasons, an average of 23.8 and a median of 22, a 10-game chart against the line, supporting stats, a written insight, a shot chart against Orlando and a table of what Orlando allowed by position, at FanDuel’s price. Alternate lines carried a padlock.

So the free version of Outlier is a good look at three bets a day per league, chosen by Outlier.

The monthly prices match our paid tools page, checked October 15, where the annual plans are given as yearly totals. The top tier is now named Pro + React Live on the plans section; its help guide still calls it Pro.

Every row as read on October 23, 2026, between 11:34 and 11:50 ET, logged out from Ontario. Our own row was counted from the live board at 11:46 ET.

Three more showed nothing logged out. PropFinder’s NBA address sent us to a sign-in page; its pricing names a free plan with one game per league and limited props, which needs an account, and paid plans of $14.99 a month or $149.99 a year. Props.Cash’s NBA page led to a sign-in page too, at $19.99 a month or $199.99 a year. Unabated asks for an account even for its free odds, and Props+ was $99 a month. These are login walls, not paywalls, and since we did not sign up we cannot say what their free accounts show.

The closest substitute, honestly

For breadth, BettingPros. Logged out it showed 1,406 NBA props with a game log, a matchup tab and a multi-book odds page, the same kind of evidence Outlier’s Props list and player view are bought for. What it keeps back is its own pick and projection.

For depth on one player, PropsMadness, inside its one preview game. For its three open players the research was the same kind as Outlier’s free bets, hit rates, a game log against the line and the opponent’s defence, across 22 markets. Outside that game, everything is paid.

Our own entry

We build one of these. At 11:46 ET on October 23, 2026, the Lab’s board carried 5 leagues, 77 games, 4,695 props, 43 markets and 20 books, with prices pulled at 10:00 AM ET. The NBA alone had 12 games and 1,325 props in 11 markets across 18 books.

Here is what stands in for each Outlier screen, all free:

  • Outlier’s Props and Popular lists: the board, every main-line prop for the day’s leagues with its line, the best price across the books, and hit rates over the last 5, 10 and 20 games, last season and this season.
  • Outlier’s player research view: a player page, for example Jayson Tatum’s points, with hit counts against that night’s lines in 9 NBA markets, a game-log chart against the line, home or away, minutes, and the price at every book on every line. His points showed 14 of 17 books at 25.5 at 10:00 AM ET.
  • Outlier’s by-position table: the NBA defense vs position table, for every team, not three bets.

Our prices are pulled at set times through the day, so the Lab is not a real-time alert service. The Lab is free.

What each Outlier tier adds

From Outlier’s own plan guide, read October 23, 2026, as advertised and not tested by us:

  • Premium, $19.99 a month: trending insights and bet ideas, thousands of props and games across sports, advanced data visuals, odds tracking and movement charts (basic access), injury reports and real-time alerts.
  • Premium Plus, $29.99 a month: everything in Premium plus a Positive EV badge from its no-vig calculations and an odds movement tracker per sportsbook.
  • Pro, $79.99 a month: everything, including the full Positive EV feed with custom filters, sharp-book odds comparison, boosted parlay highlights, middling tools and an arbitrage feed with stake suggestions.

So the honest trade is this. The free tools, ours included, cover the evidence: the board, the prices, the hit rates and the game logs. Outlier’s paid tiers sell the layer on top: its picks of what to look at, +EV flags, line movement and alerts. If you want that layer, it is what you are paying for; if you want the evidence, you do not need to pay. The same question about another paid tool is in free alternatives to Props.Cash, and the full logged-out test of free tools is free player prop tools.

No affiliate links, no referral codes, and no vendor was contacted. We build one of the tools on the list.

Quick answers

Is there a free version of Outlier?

A small one. On October 23, 2026, Outlier's free feed showed 3 popular NBA bets, each with hit rates, a 10-game chart and a by-position table of what the opponent allowed, at one book's price. The rest of the list was blurred, and Games, Props, EV+, Boosts, Arbitrage and Middle Bets carried padlocks.

How much does Outlier cost?

Read from its plans section on October 23, 2026: Premium $19.99 a month, Premium+ $29.99 and Pro + React Live $79.99, or on annual plans $16.67, $25.00 and $30.00 a month billed upfront, with a 7-day free trial. Prices change; check its page.

What is the best free alternative to Outlier?

For breadth logged out, BettingPros: 1,406 NBA props in 11 markets that morning, with game logs, a matchup tab with defense vs position and a multi-book odds page free. We build one as well, the Lab: every main-line prop on the board with hit rates over the last 5, 10 and 20 games, and a page per player with every book's price on every line.

What do you give up by not paying for Outlier?

By its own plan guide, Premium adds the full props and games lists, odds tracking and alerts; Premium Plus adds a Positive EV badge and an odds movement tracker; Pro adds the full Positive EV feed, sharp-book odds, middles and an arbitrage feed. Those are what it advertises; we did not test them.

Does PropFinder have a free plan?

Its pricing names one, with access to one game per league and limited props, but it needs an account. Logged out, its NBA address sent us to a sign-in page, so we did not see the free plan.

Want tonight's board?

The Lab has the full slate: every line with L5, L10, L20 and season hit rates, game logs, matchup context and the best price at your books. A short daily card of picks is posted before the games and graded in public afterwards, win or lose. The Lab is free, and it stays free.
